Experience in promoting a literary blog in the United States: the result obtained from a combination of SEO and link building

Introduction

Our next project is a content website in the literature and quotes niche, targeted at a United States audience. Content was updated regularly, but the technical condition of the website and the lack of a promotion strategy did not allow the project to reach its full potential. The main difficulty was that the project operated in several language versions, while growth was required specifically for the English-speaking audience.

The case is based on the results from February to April 2024.

Main problem

The website had low traffic and weak indexation. So, it required a complete SEO strategy and strengthening of the backlink profile. The client needed to quickly bring new articles into search results, increase the number of ranking keywords, and ensure stable organic growth.

Our actions

First, we perform a comprehensive audit of the website. Our experts checked the structure, speed, mobile version errors, the correctness of indexation, and metadata completeness. After the audit, we developed a plan for technical improvements and began the step-by-step refinement of all page types.

At the next stage, the team optimized the content. Topics with minimal competition and high traffic potential were collected. We prepare articles for each topic based on search queries, add structured markup, and also update titles and descriptions. So, the internal structure of the website became more logical, which accelerated indexation.

For promotion, we used a multi-tier link-building strategy. Our experts relied on safe sources and distributed backlinks evenly across priority pages. During the work period, the following were completed:

Throughout the process, we analyzed Ahrefs data: we monitored indexation, the appearance of new keywords, and organic traffic dynamics. Based on monitoring results, we adjust the strategy to maintain ongoing visibility growth.

Results

Within three months, the project demonstrated significant growth across all key metrics.

Organic traffic increased from 1,059 to 53,656 visits. Growth amounted to 4,966%. This is a strong indicator for a content-based website that previously did not have a solid SEO foundation.

Keyword visibility grew from 6,864 to 72,636. The increase amounted to more than 9 times. This confirms that the content became relevant to search queries, and pages started to be indexed consistently.

Looking at the dynamics, traffic increased almost 50 times, and the number of ranking keywords increased approximately ten times. Such growth is explained by a combination of technical optimization, thoughtful work with content, and a targeted backlink strategy.

Conclusion

The project received a structured website, improved indexation, traffic growth, and a noticeable expansion of search coverage. As a result, content consistently appears in search results in the United States, and the website has become competitive in its niche. The work completed in a short period created a foundation that continues to drive growth without additional risks.
